Limelight Hydrangea Hundreds of 12” blooms!! Hydrangea Paniculata Limelight An exciting new hardy Hydrangea from Holland. 'Limelight' has unique bright green blooms in mid-summer that holds its bright and refreshing color right into autumn when the blooms change color to a rich deep pink. The autumn display of green and pink blooms on the same plant is breathtaking! The color makes a great addition to the garden and it blends wonderfully with all other colors. The flower heads are of good size, ranging from 6 to 12 inches and are held upright on the shrub. The blooms are well distributed making a very nice plant and display. This hydrangea can tolerate full sun in the colder areas and it even does well in the hot, dry areas of the West. The pyramid-shaped flowers add a nice touch in late summer when other flowers are spent and you are waiting for this colorful beauty. It keeps up the show into fall when the chartreuse to ivory flowers become pink-tinged. The green and pink blooms together are exquisite. Bloom Time: Begins in late July - early August and remains showy thru autumn. Bloom color: Soft lime green, matures to pastel pink. Fall color: Green with a tinge of yellow. Sometimes a reddish-purple color. Size: 6 to 8 feet high and wide with age. Can be easily maintained as a smaller plant or trained into a small tree. Soil: Prefers good, loamy soil. Most adaptable of all hydrangeas to different soil types. Most urban tolerant and very difficult to kill. Pruning: Best if done in late fall or early spring. Blooms on new wood. Make sure to prune off spent flowers when they turn brown. Very tolerant of hard pruning, in fact cutting the plant back from 1/2 to 1/3 will result in larger flowers. One gallon size plants.
