Firepower Nandina Nandina Domestica Turns Flaming Red in the Winter A fine small shrub, 'Firepower' features extremely vivid-red winter foliage, and has a neat, compact habit. This is an upright shrub with evergreen leaves. Red berry-like clusters are persistent through winter, and can be used in arrangements or eaten by birds. Fire Power Nandina is often chosen for the oriental effect they offer with their bamboo-like stalks and fern-like foliage. The green leaves shift to a brilliant red color as summer shifts to fall. The Firepower Nandina maintains this hue throughout the winter months. While the Firepower Nandina can be planted in either direct or partial sunlight, the colors will be noticeably brighter and lush with the greater amount of sun. The Nandina is hardy and disease resistant. The bush needs minimal care, adding to its value as both a landscape element and a simple decorative plant. These shrubs are about a foot tall and heavily branched with a good shape.
