Scarlet Maple Tree The scarlet maples are a fast growing tree that is also one of the first trees to show fall color. Fall color is a gorgeous blend of yellow, orange and red. The leaves of this deciduous maple will always contain a hint of scarlet. It will grow in low lands and can handle excessive moisture. Scarlet Maple has a pyramidal shape when young with the branches developing low and forming a dense, narrow crown. The deeply-lobed leaves are a glossy bright green. Scarlet maples require full sun for best effect. This tree is a large tree that can achieve a trunk size of three to five feet in diameter. Under good conditions they can grow 3 ft. or more per year. It is one of the top five trees for shade. These trees are between 4-5 feet tall and well branched. Trees will be shipped bare root with moist material around their roots.
