Maximilian SunflowersGiant Maximilian Perennial Sunflowers have hundreds of blooms! If you love sunflowers, you know that sowing seeds every year and waiting months to see blooms can be very frustrating. These hardy perennial sunflowers will reward you year after year with masses of bright yellow blooms. They quickly develop a large root that sends out many secondary shoots each year. Give these giants plenty of room to grow! This sunflower grows up to 10 feet tall and is covered with hundreds of bright yellow flowers in late summer. The lance-shape gray-green foliage is quite attractive throughout the summer and the flowers make great fresh cut flowers for bouquets.Grows best in average soil with medium moisture in full sun. Maximilian sunflowers are a tremendous food source for both birds and butterflies. The hundreds of blooms produce an abundant supply of seeds that last long into the winter and many species of birds find them hard to resist. They should be planted towards the back of the garden or along a fence as they will reach up to 10 feet tall! The plants are easy to transplant and spread quickly. These plants are 2 years old and with proper care will bloom this summer.These plants are currently growing in 4” pots in our greenhouse.
