Magnolia Jane Tree Magnolia Jane is a rounded, bushy plant producing flowers in late spring that resemble slender tulips. The blooms are reddish-purple outside and white inside. Flowers open just before the leaves appear, making a superb display. Jane Magnolia trees are strong, vigorous, upright growers and are distinguished by their beautifully shaped, extremely fragrant large flowers opening in early May. The flowers are followed by showy red seedpods that attract lots of songbirds. Magnolias are some of the most magnificent specimen trees and shrubs in the garden. They can be used as specimens or as lovely backdrops for other plantings. They prefer a moist well drained slightly acidic soil, but are fairly tolerant. Magnolias do best when given enough room to develop root systems - better away from other trees with plenty of sun and room to grow. These trees are about 2-3 feet tall. Trees will be shipped bare root with moist material around their roots.
